Accessing the Product Attributes Section
To begin creating product attributes in Red OnX, start by logging into your Red OnX dashboard. From the main menu, navigate to Products > Product Attributes. This will take you to the Product Attributes overview page, where you can see any existing attributes and terms.
Creating a New Attribute
To create a new attribute, click the New Attribute button located at the top right of the screen in the Product Attributes section. A form will appear for you to enter the details of your new attribute:
- Name: Enter the name of the attribute (e.g., “Color,” “Size”). This is the only mandatory field and is essential for identifying the attribute within your store.
- Slug: The slug is a unique identifier for the attribute. It is automatically generated based on the name, but you can customize it if needed.
- Enable Archives: Check this box if you want to create a dedicated archive page for products with this attribute. This is useful for allowing customers to browse all products with a particular attribute.
- Default Sort Order: Choose how you want the terms within this attribute to be sorted. You can select from options like custom ordering, alphabetical by name, numeric by name, or by Term ID.
Configuring Attribute Terms
After creating the attribute, you can define specific terms (values) for it, such as different colors or sizes. To do this, click on the Configure Terms link next to the newly created attribute. Here, you can add, edit, and manage the terms that customers will see when selecting options for products.
